These are my personal views

Mathematics

Most of us think that mathematics starts from counting. Wikipedia tells, "Mathematics is the science and study of quantity, structure, space, and change". I think that mathematics is the foundation of our thinking. The foundation of our language is abstraction and logical reasoning. As is claimed in Wikipedia, "The evolution of mathematics might be seen as an ever-increasing series of abstractions, or alternatively an expansion of subject matter. The first abstraction, which is shared by many animals, was probably that of numbers: the realization that two apples and two oranges (for example) have something in common." But every word in our language comes from abstraction. For example, every cat is different by nature, but we put all them in one category as 'cat'. Similarly for other names, verbs, adverbs and adjectives. This is similar to telling two apples and two oranges have something in common. Of course, in our real life, we do not use these terms as precise as in mathematical thinking. Thus if we want to make any thing precise in our real life, mathematics comes into play.

Views on Religion

The religion is a science to understand ourselves. It consists of psychology and meditation. As we consist of combination of mind and body, we need aslo a combined concept to uderstand ourselves. To understand ourselves means to understand our activities- internal and external. The internal activities are our feelings: our happiness, sadness, anger, excitment, pain, peace etc. Our external activities are the activities which can be seen by other people.

Our Problem

The fundamental problem in human life is that we are living in duality. One of the most important duality is the right and wrong exist together and so do the good and evil. The knowledge does not exist without ignorance, and beauty has no meaning without ugliness. We have pain and pleasure, happiness and sadness, love and hatred, and they all exist together. We are neither totally dependent nor totally independent. We can neither believe totally nor disbelieve totally. We can neither understand something fully nor give up our knowledge. We want security and freedom at the same time.

Views on Scientific Research

The scientific research should be done for the purpose of developing an innovative society and for the betterment of livelihood of mankind. It should not be simply to fulfill the ego of a scientist working in a particular area. Can we really measure the contribution of a scientist in a certain field of research? What is scientific neo-exploitation?

Views about Life

It is not necessary to be a learned scholar to understand life. A totally uneducated person can have a very good understanding of life. Most of us have a lot of views and opinions. There are infinitely many sides of every thing that our views or opinions cannot cover the whole of its aspect. We cannot be quiet as nobody understands the language of silence, and whatever we want to transmit shows that we have views of life. These are our beliefs: religious, scientific or philosophical. One believes in something and other does not believe in that. It is not so easy to remain in the middle. Not believing is also a sort of belief. To be realist is to remain in a state of confusion, and it is one of the most difficult thing to remain in a state of confusion.
