Pattern formation in an etched radial Hele Shaw cell

Abstract:
We have introduced numerical schemes for simulating
pattern formation at the interface between
two imiscible fluids in an etched radial Hele Shaw cell.
Our simulations, which have been carried out over a range of two model
parameters, are compared with
experimental results that have been reported for a range
of plate spacings and applied pressures.
The simulations reproduce the complete range of
morphology transitions in the experiments.
