Automorphisms Fixing Every Subnormal Subgroup Of A Finite Group

Abstract:
In a recent paper DJS Robinson has shown that the structure of the group of
automorphisms
that fix the subnormal subgroups of a finite group setwise is very
restricted. In this
paper we show that by focussing on the action of these automorphisms on the
generalised
Fitting subgroup, further restrictions can be placed on its structure.
