Graphs associated with character degrees of finite groups: a survey and some new results

Let G be a finite group, and let cd(G) denote the set whose elements are the (distinct) degrees of the irreducible complex characters of G. As a large number of results in the literature indicate, the structure of G is deeply reflected and influenced by certain arithmetical properties of the set cd(G), and a useful way of studying such properties is to associate with cd(G) some particular graphs. In this lecture we present an overview on this subject, as well as some new results.
