Analysis and Geometry Program

The Analysis and Geometry Program in the Mathematical Sciences Institute is coordinated by Prof. Alan McIntosh .

Events

CMA/AMSI Research Symposium on Asymptotic Geometric Analysis, Harmonic Analysis and Related Topics, Murramarang, 21 - 24 February 2006.

Noteworthy information about the program

  1. Andrew Hassell won the Australian Mathematical Society 2003 Medal for distinguished mathematical research, jointly with fellow ANU mathematician Ben Andrews of the Nonlinear and Applied Analysis program.
  2. The Group plays an important leadership role in Australian mathematics. Alan Carey is Dean of the Mathematical Sciences Institute, was President of the Australian Mathematical Society from 2000 to 2002, and is currently president of the Australian Mathematical Sciences Council. Derek Robinson and Alan McIntosh are both FAAs (Fellows of the Australian Academy of Science) and Alan McIntosh was Head of the Centre for Mathematics and its Applications from 1999 to 2004.
