Research programs
The research activties of the MSI are divided into seven programs: computational mathematics, algebra and topology, analysis and geometry, applied and nonlinear analysis, mathematical physics and theoretical astro-physics, statistical science, and stochastic analysis.
Research facilities
The MSI offers all researchers up to date computing facilities including access to most commercial software products and a large number of open source products. The MSI houses a 272-core Linux cluster for computational work and researchers also have access to the National Computational Infrastructure (NCI) Supercomputer located on campus. The MSI offers a Linux and Mac OS X environment for its researchers and has a strong IT Unit providing support for all members of the School, including researchers, admin staff and students from Honours level upwards.
Proceedings of the CMA
Research monographs containing peer-reviewed research articles, expository papers and lecture notes, are published by the CMA. The Proceedings of the CMA is now in its 42nd volume.
Graduate research
The MSI offers a number of graduate degrees in mathematics research.
Events
The MSI regularly hosts symposia, conferences and workshops as part of its research activities.
