The Committee for International Conferences on Industrial and Applied Mathematics (CICIAM) is an international association of societies involved in applied mathematics and its applications. The main activity of CICIAM is to hold an international congress every four years. The first such meeting was held in Paris in 1987. Subsequent meetings took place in Washington DC, in 1991, Hamburg, in 1995, and the last conference, ICIAM'99, took place in Edinburgh in 1999. These meetings are now firmly established as the premier international conferences in applied mathematics. They aim to cover broad developments and the latest advances in industrial and applied mathematics. Cross disciplinary themes within mathematics, between mathematics and other disciplines, and between mathematics and particular industries are also covered.
