2005 Special Year on Computational MathematicsWorkshop on High-dimensional Approximation14 - 17 February 2005Australian National University, CanberraManning Clark Centre A map of the campus and surrounding area. The workshop is devoted to recent advances and ideas concerning high-dimensional approximation. The need for representation of high-dimensional functions and data arises in numerous application fields. The development of efficient, or tractable, methods to describe and compute these functions is a challenging problem due to the "curse of dimensionality". The aim of this workshop is to attract and bring together researchers from different fields of research. The scope goes from theoretic results for high-dimensional approximation, to computational methods and to applications resulting in high-dimensional problems.
