    Minimal Models Activity

Special topics featured in the 3-fold activity include minimal models, derived categories, McKay correspondence, birational geometry, and other topics continuing the activity of last year's Newton Institute program. Categorical methods also feature prominently among the topics of the topology conference, including people such as Bridgeland and Toen, and of course Amnon Neeman himself.

Known participants of the 3-fold activity include:
    Gavin Brown (Warwick)
    Alessio Corti (Cambridge)
    Andrei Caldararu (Pennsylvania)
    Ivan Cheltsov (Georgia)
    Igor Dolgachev (Michigan)
    Gavril Farkas (Michigan)
    Tommaso de Fernex (Michigan)
    Brendan Hassett (Rice)
    Masayuki Kawakita (Tokyo)
    Yujiro Kawamata (Tokyo)
    Sandor Kovacs (Washington)
    Amnon Neeman (ANU)
    Miles Reid (Warwick)
    Jason Starr (MIT)
    Francesco Zucconi (Udine)

The activity runs through Aug 2003, with a more concentrated workshop period during the last two weeks Mon 18th--Fri 29th Aug. However, participants may also be interested in the wide-ranging topology workshop Mon 14th Jul--Fri 25th Jul. Reid, Neeman and others will be there from 20th Jul to ensure continuity.
