Professor Joachim Cuntz
Index theorems of Atiyah-Singer type in the light of bivariant K-theory.

Professor Cuntz is Director of the Mathematical Institute at the University of Muenster, and is one of the leading experts in Noncommutative Geometry and Operator Theory. He is a recipient of the Max-Planck Research Prize, the Medal of the College de France, the Leibniz Prize, an honorary doctorate of the University of Copenhagen.
