Workshop on Nonlinear Analysis

18 - 19 March 2009

In March 2009 the Mathematical Sciences Insititute will be hosting several distinguished analysts: Klaus Ecker from FU-Berlin; Hitoshi Ishii from Waseda University; and Irene Fonseca and Giovanni Leoni, from Carnegie Mellon University. To mark this occasion, the MSI will be hosting a short workshop on nonlinear analysis, with particular emphasis on evolution equations, viscosity solutions, and the intersection of geometric analysis and materials science.

The workshop will be suitable for researchers and graduate students in the area, and we particularly invite PhD students to give a short talk on their research. This is an AMSI supported workshop, and so travel funds are available from local AMSI budgets for students and early-career researchers.

To register, please email Ben Andrews, and indicate whether you wish to give a talk.

Klaus Ecker General Talk
In addition to the workshop, Klaus Ecker will also be giving a general talk on the structure of three dimensional curved space on March 24th. An abstract for this talk can be downloaded here.

Venue
The Australian National University, Canberra.

Organisers
  Julie Clutterbuck (ANU)
