ICE-EM Australian Travel Scholarships

The International Centre of Excellence for Education in Mathematics (ICE-EM) is pleased to offer student travel scholarships to attend BioInfoSummer. Students enrolled in AMSI institutions and not currently residing in the ACT are invited to apply for these scholarships, by following the guidelines below.

ICE-EM Asian and Latin American Travel Scholarships

Several international travel scholarships are available to eligible postgraduate students and early career academics enrolled or employed in universities in Asia and Latin America. Applicants must be able to understand and communicate at a scientific level in the English language (English language skill equivalent to IELTS 6.5).

The subsidies have a value of AU$ 1000 to AU$ 2500 (approximately US$ 750 to US$1900), and can be used towards registration fees, accommodation and travel expenses. Applicants should follow the guidelines below for submission. All applications from international students must be submitted online. For questions, contact Graham Keen at ICE-EM: graham (at) amsi.org.au

ICE-EM PRIMA Accommodation Subsidies

ICE-EM is offering five accommodation subsidies for one week to postgraduate students enrolled full-time in universities that are members of the Pacific Rim Mathematical Association (PRIMA) to participate in the Graduate School. The subsidies cover the cost of room and board.

Because of reciprocal relations amongst PRIMA institutions, PRIMA students pay the same registration fees as AMSI student. PRIMA students who wish to attend, but who are not awarded one of the five accommodation subsidies, still pay the reduced registration fee.

Applicants must be enrolled full-time in a PRIMA university. Non-native English language speakers should have English language skills equivalent to IELTS level 6.5.

COSNet registration subsidies

The ARC Complex Open Systems Research Network (COSNet) offers a registration discount to its students and early career researchers members. The discounts are 44$ for students and 115$ for early career researchers. To join COSNet, click here.
