ANU Course Award in Bioinformatics

The course concerns applications of mathematical, statistical and computational methods to problems in molecular biology. Relevant biological material is explained as the course progresses. Background lectures provided by key interdisciplinary researchers inform students of the latest advances in bioinformatics. Four major topics are covered: Sequence to Structure; Comparative Genomics; Regulatory Networks; Analysis of Gene Expression. Computational experience in all of the above topics is provided within the course. The course has the following structure:

  • Attendance at the educational component of BioInfoSummer (provided by CBiS)
  • Four computer tutorials (Dec 7-10th) in the four topics
  • Attendance at eight keynote talks at BioInfoSummer
  • Four follow-up assignments

Award Accreditation

ANU Graduate Course Awards may be accredited towards postgraduate qualifications at any university by arrangement with your home institution. You do NOT need enrol as an ANU student to undertake a graduate course award.

Early Bird Award Fee (until 8 November 2004) $150
Award Fee (until 29 November 2004) $200
Late Award Fee (until symposium) $250

Registration (and the fees) for this course award must be made in addition to BioInfoSummer registration.

Participants from the Mathematics Departments of AMSI Institutions must consult with their Head of Department before registering for the Course Award.
