Neighbouring Symposia

There will be a Special Program on Spectral and Scattering Theory at the Australian National University (ANU), running from July 2 to December 14, 2001 with Research Symposia on August 8-10 and September 19-21 (directly before this meeting). The schedule for the second workshop is available.

On September 29--39 at the Australian Academy of Science there will be the 9th Frank and Bobbie Fenner Conference on Bioinformation Science, sponsored by the John Curtin Institute of Medical Research and the Centre for Bioinformation Science.

The Centre for the Study of the Chinese Southern Diaspora at the ANU will be holding an international conference "Migrating Identities and Ethnic Minorities in Chinese Diaspora". This conference is being held from September 26-28, immediately after the 45th Annual Meeting of the Australian Mathematical Society. The conference organizers have managed to extend the following concessional rates:
$30.00 for 1 conference day
$50.00 for 2 conference days
$60.00 for the entire conference
Please note that these rates also include daily morning and afternoon teas. The registration form can be downloaded from the conference web site.

Tourist Information

If you've got time, there are a number of places in Canberra you might like to visit, and the link above has some useful information. You might also like to consider visiting Floriade, Canberra's famous springtime flower festival which is on right now (and is free). There is also the National Gallery of Australia, which is well worth a visit.

And of course you might like to visit the National Museum, either on the planned excursion, or by yourself.
