Linda Stals to report on
the progress with wattle. We will arrange a mathematics specific training session later in the semester.
6. Honours.
Alex Isaev to reported on the new guidelines (and timetable) for honours students. Here is a link.
We discussed how to interpret the various milestones, with a request that the honours committee better formulate milestone 4.
7. First Year teaching and WebAssign
Agnes Boskovitz and Alex Isaev commented on the
experience of using WebAssign. Agnes mentioned that the system provided
a good overview of the areas in which students are struggling.
8. Any other business
Preliminary
discussion on whether t o change the syllabus of math1003 to cover the
requirements of a bridging course from 2 unit maths to math1013.
